...opening the door to healing; body, mind and soul...
Core Synchronism is a form of gentle and profound “hand medicine” that enables me, as your practitioner, to access all layers of your body to release dis-synchronistic patterns of movement from their source.
When in balance, your entire body (physical, etheric, and mental/emotional) moves in synchronistic motion with the ebb and flow of the core current that runs within your spinal cord. Various traumas in your life, such as physical accidents, certain psychological events, and genetic weaknesses inherited from parents, cause your body to fall out of synch with this natural rhythm. Your body holds on to those memories and, over time, outward symptoms (inflammation, pain, fatigue, depression, anger, etc.) show up that tell you that your body is trying to get back to a point of balance.
Core has the potential to help restore balance to any aspects of your body that are out of synch with each other and with your core current. As balance is found, symptoms tend to clear up.
Unlike massage, Core Synchronism is a fully clothed treatment; I don’t use massage oils or lotions and I don’t manipulate the body’s soft tissues. Instead, I use light, still, hand placements on different areas of your body, most commonly the head, feet, spine and torso. As your body begins to move synchronistically, you will experience deeper and deeper states of relaxation. As you relax, your body is able to reset itself more easily, moving toward healing. To support the process of relaxing and synching up, I may apply therapeutic essential oils to specific places on your body, such as your “third eye”, sternum, navel or soles of the feet.

How can Core Synchronism help me?
While many people love Core sessions simply for the states of deep relaxation they experience, most seek its assistance for help with a wide range of physical and mental/emotional challenges. This is a brief list of complaints that Core Synchronism has been found to help alleviate:
• stress • chronic & acute fatigue • headaches • surgical trauma • chronic pain • poor digestion & elimination • insomnia • thyroid dysfunction • immune system dysfunction • grief • depression & anxiety • back pain & spinal dysfunction
How many treatments will I need?
There is no fixed number. As a general rule, however, more recent problems may be resolved more quickly, while older issues may require more sessions in order for your body to release those traumas and reestablish synchronistic movement. If you are facing ongoing stress, you might consider scheduling regular treatments for a time, and then “taper” them as you find appropriate.
What can I expect after a treatment?
Core is deeply relaxing and gentle. At the same time, you might experience some discomfort for a few days after a session; this is generally a good sign. It indicates that change is occurring within the body. Imagine that you held an arm or leg in one position for a very long time. The limb might not hurt, but if you tried to return it to its normal position, you might have some pain. This is how it is with Core. Your body has gotten used to a certain way of being to cope with certain imbalances. To return to a place of balance, it will have to change positions. That change is good, though it may be accompanied by temporary discomfort while correcting itself. Your practitioner can recommend certain flower essences or other supportive practices you might use to help yourself through these periods of reintegration.
I’ve heard of Cranial-Sacral Therapy...how is Core Synchronism Different?
Whereas cranial-sacral therapy focuses on the body’s cranial-sacral system, Core Synchronism treatments can work directly with all the body’s physical systems; bones and soft tissue, nervous, endocrine, lymphatic, digestive, urinary, respiratory, circulatory and reproductive, as well as cranial-sacral. In addition, Core Synchronism works at the energetic level, with the body’s major and minor chakras and the various energetic currents that envelop the body; and, at the mental/emotional level, tapping into the body’s unconscious. Finally, Core concerns itself with the relationships between all of these interdependent components of your whole body.
Where did Core Synchronism come from?
Core Synchronism is based on the principles of natural therapeutics, polarity therapy, cranial osteopathy (cranial-sacral therapy), as well as the palpatory and philosophical discoveries of Robert Stevens, its founder and developer. Robert is a polarity and cranial-sacral adept, Naturopathic Doctor, and Director of the New Mexico School of Natural Therapeutics. Upon introducing Core in 1996 Robert commented, “After twenty-two years of practice and thousands of treatments, I am very excited about the discovery...this is not a theory or something I invented but a discovery made through working on many, many people with a vast array of acute and chronic conditions.” Having taught seminars and workshops on cranial-sacral and polarity therapy throughout the country and around the world for decades, he now teaches and practices Core Synchronism exclusively. He is its leading expert, proponent, and instructor.

I have received Core Synchronism from Ann Marie at times when I’ve been stressed out or have felt out of balance. It is the most relaxing thing I have ever done.

Prior to my initial appointment with Ann Marie, I was convinced that I needed to purchase a new mattress because my back was stiff and painful when I awoke each morning. However, the morning following the Core Synchronism treatment, I awoke with a relaxed spine and it is that way every morning since. With such a gentle and informed treatment by Ann Marie, I continue to experience improved health and intend to continue this path to wellness.
