You don’t need to do anything in particular to prepare, other than approaching the session with an attitude of openness and curiosity. When you lie on the table, just be. Meditating, visualizations, or even trying to “empty” your mind can get in the way of your experience; just let go, relax, and see what you notice, without attaching any value or judgement to it. Some people notice changes immediately, for others it may take somewhat longer for the healing process to become apparent. Healing itself can come in many forms; watch for it!
Sometimes just a single session will be sufficient. Usually, however, a maximum of three sessions is recommended. Although each session is special, something particularly significant or meaningful tends to be reported about session number three.
The key is your “readiness” to accept the healing, so to speak. If you receive everything you’re looking for by your first, second or third session, it’s time to let go and allow things to unfold on their own. If you don’t receive anything by your third session, Reconnective Healing might not be the most appropriate form of healing for you right now. Again, you may want to let go and allow whatever might unfold to do so. You may choose to return in three, six, maybe even eighteen months.
There are two situations in which additional sessions might be helpful. The first is if you feel you’ve made good progress with the first three sessions, and feel that you need just a little more help to see your healing through to its fullest expression. The second is if a new situation arises that you would like to address through Reconnective Healing.
Keep in mind that Reconnective Healing is not about regular visits or "touch-ups." You do not need to come in for "weekly" sessions or on any kind of an "ongoing" basis. Once you have your session(s), you "own" your change, your healing, your evolution. It’s yours. No one can take it away from you. Ever.
While it is technically possible to do so, it is strongly recommended that you receive at least one healing session before your Reconnection.
The Reconnection takes place in two parts because a sleep cycle is an important part of fully reconnecting the axiatonal lines. On the other hand, it is equally important not to let too much time elapse between the two sessions. Thus, consecutive days are ideal, with no more than 72 hours passing between parts one and two.
